Mushroomtober: Veiled Lady
Veiled Ladies, also called Stinkhorns, are striking mushrooms that grow in tropical environments and have a beautiful lacy “skirt” under the fruiting cap. Despite the Stinkhorn moniker, it is considered a delicacy in China, where it featured prominently in dishes in the Imperial Court.
In 2022 for the Inktober challenge, I did 15 pen and ink illustrations of mushrooms! Each illustration is 4×6″ and was done with brushpen and pen stippling. It comes framed.
