5×7″ Holiday Cards

Holiday cards featuring some of my favorite winter spirits, the German Krampus and the Welsh Mari Lwyd!

Krampus is a Germanic winter demon who appears on the night of December 5th, the night before Saint Nicholas Day, to beat bad children with sticks and carry them away to hell in his wicker basket. Children who survive Krampusnacht make it to open presents on Saint Nicholas Day.

Mari Lwyd is a Welsh wassailing tradition featuring a decorated horse’s skull, which is paraded around town amidst singing and the poetic demanding of alcohol from people in their homes. You can try to argue the ghostly horse out of your booze, but you must do it in rhyme–and she has had much more practice than you! Give her a warming drink to send her on her way: but if you join her, you could join in on the festivities yourself!

These cards are 5×7″ and feature two separate designs. They are available singly, in packs of 5 of a single design, or in packs of 2 featuring each of the two designs.
